Johnny Depp is a favorite of all who like”Pirates of the Caribbean” . But isn’t he a great performer in his own right.A favorite of noted director Tim Burton, his performance has been on the rise,be it his portrayal of Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland,as a vampire in Dark Shadows,as a quaint investigator in Sleepy Hollow;he has played each role to perfection.A notable mention is Don Juan DeMarco,in which he plays John Arnold DeMarco, a man who believes himself to be Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world. Clad in a cape and mask, DeMarco undergoes psychiatric treatment with Marlon Brando’s character, Dr. Jack Mickler, to cure him of his apparent delusion. But the psychiatric sessions have an unexpected effect on the psychiatric staff, some of whom find themselves inspired by DeMarco’s delusion; the most profoundly affected is Dr. Mickler himself, who rekindles the romance in his complacent marriage. He has shown his shown his capacity as an artist by portraying a variety of roles. He has also excelled in playing gothic and noir genre characters. He has won awards that include honors from the London Film Critics Circle (1996), Russian Guild of Film Critics (1998), Screen Actors Guild Awards (2004) and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. At the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, he won the award for “Best Villain” for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd and “Best Comedic Performance” for Jack Sparrow. Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards, in 2004 for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in 2005 for Finding Neverland, and in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Depp won his first Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in 2008.Depp reprised the role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels Dead Man’s Chest (2006), At World’s End (2007), and On Stranger Tides(2011), which were also major box office successes.
He has been amazing in his choice of films which often include forays in uncharted territory as of characters he plays in them.We look forward to be intrigued by his future performances ……….
